Filteau PatriciaPatricia Filteau

Patricia Filteau mines a wealth of personal experiences that bring to life her Kate Roarty, P.I. series. Inspired by a career that took her from archaeology to small business to trade commissioner and diplomat, this writer takes us on a high-stakes, high-tech pursuit of stolen intellectual property. Kate’s clients are scientists developing advanced technology in domains that will change the world. Kate Roarty restores stolen intellectual property to their rightful owners. The first book, Vantage Point, (2016) careens through the vagaries of neuro micro science while the second book, Traces, (2017) descends into the mining industry, stripping the lustre off precious metals. The third book, Steps, (2018) takes on exploitation in the dance world, chasing down stolen choreography. Murder, deceit, and corruption invade these tales. Dollops of love, romance, and compassion keep her readers teetering on the edge.

Patricia Filteau grew up in the boreal forest of northern Canada. She went on to live, work, and travel in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America. Her lifelong passion for long-distance open-water swimming connects her to the outdoors and the wilderness she knows and loves. She has experienced adventure, adversity, avarice, and passion in many geographically diverse and humanly dynamic settings. She embraces the Canadian wilderness and urban landscape with equal delight and awe. Patricia has two adult children. She lives and writes in Ottawa, Canada and swims in Meech Lake, Gatineau, Quebec.
