Morgan Madelle

Madelle Morgan

Madelle Morgan is an Ottawa-based engineer who writes romantic suspense. Her debut novel “mines” the five years she lived in Canada's Northwest Territories in the early 80s. Based in Yellowknife, her first job took her to most of the communities north of the 60th parallel. She developed a deep love of the far north and its hardy, adventurous people, vowing to one day set a story in the Land of the Midnight Sun. Upon the discovery of billion dollar diamond deposits in the 90s, she had her hook. The result was Diamond Lust, a novel about diamond smuggling and murder at a remote NWT mine site.

Madelle has B.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees from Queen’s University and the University of Waterloo, respectively. Currently a manager in the federal public service, she writes fiction in her spare time. Her writing weaves mystery, romance, and “ordinary world” science & technology into compelling stories.

If there were a game that required players to invent the most creative ways to kill off a character, she’d win!

Selected Bibliography

Novels:

  • Diamond Lust, Cerridwen Press, 2010

“The love of money is the root of all evil. It would seem that such a truism is borne out in this tale of avarice, greed, betrayal, and murder. Add in a significant amount of romance and you have a very, very good read... This can and should be a very satisfying reading experience for both mystery and romance fans.” Book Binge July, 2010
