In 1983 Charlie Reynolds is found tortured and murdered in a Toronto area hotel room, and his twenty-two-year-old step-daughter Fiona, must help police find the killer. Forced at the age of 16 into the adult entertainment industry by her own mother, Fiona navigates her way through the dark recesses of her family’s history, looking for answers. But her mother Sylvia, a bitter washed-up 1960s burlesque queen named Scarlet Rose, is busy cutting a wide swath of destruction, and decides to disappear with as much of her dead ex-husband’s money as she can steal. Sylvia surfaces in Mexico, where she meets Marlene, a lonely American woman sitting on an inheritance that Sylvia is determined to get her hands on. Suspense/Thriller, Noir |
