Michael Kronenwetter is an active member of both the Crime Writers of Canada and the Mystery Writers of America. Although he was born in the United States, and is still a United States citizen, he has spent several years in the past living in Canada -- first in Toronto, and then in Kingston, Ontario, where he owned a bookstore, wrote a TV column for the Kingston Whig-Standard, and both acted and directed in a local theater. More importantly, it was there he met and married his wonderful wife, Pat. After some time, that couple moved to Longueuil, Quebec. Soon after that, their first child was born not far across the Jacques Cartier Bridge in Montreal. They now have two adult children – Catherine, the daughter who was born in Montreal, and Jay, a son who was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. Each of them are proudly both Canadian and American. Mike and Pat currently live in his home town of Wausau, where he has written a controversial column for an alternative newspaper for several years now. Over the years, he has authored more than 30 nonfiction books, most of which were aimed primarily at high school or university students. In addition, he has written a fictional story broadcast by the CBC radio network and a filmstrip honoured by the United States’ National Educational Film Festival. But now... First Kill has become his first detective mystery novel, and It is planned to be his first of many.
