As you can see from her photo, the life of a mystery writer is hard. Nicola Furlong survives the travails of publishing by cycling, playing ice hockey, growing perennials, and eating chocolate. A chocolate, a plot point, a chocolate...well, you get the picture.

Nicola is the author of two stand-alone mysteries (Teed Off! and A Hemorrhaging of Souls), six inspirational cozies from the Church Choir Mysteries series, a non-fiction writing how-to primer (Youdunit Whodunit! How to Write Mysteries), a non-fiction self-publishing primer (Self-Publish Your E-book in Minutes!) and The Go-To Gardening Cards, a portable and practical gardening guide for the Pacific Northwest. She has published several of these as e-books and is blogging about her exploits in electronic publishing at www.epubbing.com. Nicola hosts The Novel Experience Podcast, where she interviews book-related experts for fiction writing and publishing tips and techniques. She has also adapted two of her novels to screenplays; both have been optioned by Canadian producers. In addition, as quillrbiz, she produces kick ass book marketing video trailers.

Nicola co-created a supernatural suspense thriller, entitled UnnaturalStates, using an experimental multi-media storytelling format called a Quillr®. A Quillr® is NOT a book. It’s something cool, fun and completely different: a holistic, multi-sensory online reading experience.

Nicola lives in a small town on southern Vancouver Island.
