The Crime Writers of Canada is a national organization for Canadian crime writers, associated professionals, and anyone else with a serious interest in Canadian crime writing. Its mission is to promote Canadian crime writing and to raise the profile of Canadian crime writers from coast to coast. Our membership categories include:

benefits the CWC offers: Networking opportunities via our members-only listserv plus access to a database of our members’ areas of expertise (this database is currently under construction) A member bio page on our Website Inclusion in our print and e-promo tools, such as our flyer and previous issues of Cool Canadian Crime our quarterly e-newsletter about members’ new books – with thousands of subscribers and counting… Inclusion in our monthly author events listing, which is emailed to members and posted to our Website
An invitation to appear at national and local industry events (like Word on the Street) plus literary festivals, including our own National Crime Writing Week, and mystery conferences (like Bloody Words and Scene of the Crime)
A mentoring program where a published author member can help aspiring authors over those writing humps (mostly for unpublished authors, but published authors can also join this program as mentees)
Each year, the CWC presents the Arthur Ellis Awards, Canada's national awards for excellence in the crime-writing field.
